In 2012, Orlando prosecutor Jeff Ashton ran for the Ninth Judicial Circuit State Attorney against former supervisor, Lawson Lamar. In March that year, the campaign hosted a fundraising reception in the Historic 1927 Courthouse-Courtroom B, where Jeff Ashton tried cases for many years. A bar was set up behind the historic judges bench. Supporters enjoyed passed appetizers and a dessert bar that included a chocolate fountain.
